by John Zimich, publicity director, Pocono Downs

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Supertank, trained and driven by John Baggitt, Jr., went a tough first-over trip in grinding out a victory in one of three divisions of the W.N. Reynolds Memorial Stake races at Pocono Downs on Wednesday night (July 13).

Leaving from the three hole, Supertank sat third at the quarter with Lindy Five Hundred (Ray Schnittker) taking the seven horse field to the opening quarter in :27.3. Baggitt elected to tip out with his three-year-old Lindy Lane gelding and stayed outside the rest of the way before winning by a length and a quarter over R Sharp Photo (Herve Filion), with third going to Lindy Five Hundred. Time of the mile was 1:57.1.

Karen Baggitt of Freehold, New Jersey and Matthew Bailey of Jackson, New Jersey own Supertank, a winner of four of 12 starts in 2005 with one second and a third.

Rollover Beethovan, trained by Doug Miller and driven by George Napolitano, Jr., also won a Reynolds split in 1:57.1. Napolitano left quickly from the five post to grab the lead and never looked back. Rollover Beethovan, owned by William B. Weaver III of Freehold, New Jersey, went wire-to-wire in winning the second division of three. This was the initial start of the season for Rollover Beethovan.

Quiet Tech, trained and driven by Tom Jackson, was a longshot victor in the third and final Reynolds Stake division. Throughout most of the race Quiet Tech sat fourth or third before coming home in :29.1 to score a victory in 1:57.3. John E. Ducharme of Pennsylvania and Leslie L. Ducharme of Florida own Quiet Tech, who now has two wins in six starts in 2005 with a second and a third.
