Drought ends for Gingras

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – December 2, 2004 – Trainer Noel Daley scored his first two wins of the 2004 fall harness meet with back-to-back winners in the fourth and fifth races on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.

In the fourth race, an $11,000 conditioned event for three-year-olds, Midnight Walk [$9.00, $3.00, $2.60] popped out of the pocket and outpaced the favorite On The Double for a 1:51.3 victory in rein to driver Ron Pierce. Daley co-owns the Park Place gelding with HDS Stable [Andrew Berg] of River Edge, New Jersey. Midnight Walk improved his record to two wins, three seconds and one third in 10 career starts.

Glenwillow Lady (3) nipped the pacesetter Cajun Laagacy by a nose in 1:52.4 for her 11th win this season.

The Daley-trained Glenwillow Lady [$9.60, $5.00, $3.40] got up in the final strides to capture the fifth race, a $19,000 event for three-year-old filly pacers. Driven by David Miller, Glenwillow Lady nipped the pacesetter Cajun Laagacy by a nose in 1:52.4. The daughter of Lusty Leader, who is also owned by HDS Stable, now has 11 victories in 24 starts this season.

Daley, who will turn 43 on December 18, captured his first Meadowlands training title in 2003 and finished just two wins behind leader Mark Harder in the 2004 January * August standings.

Later on the card, driver Yannick Gingras ended his 0 for 55 streak when he guided 34-1 shot Step In Time to victory in the $11,500 seventh race.

The pair lit up the tote board paying $70.80, $19.40 and $12.40.
