Campbellville, ON — The talent continues to roll out for Mohawk qualifiers, as Eilean Donon, Beardmore, Captain Brady, Carmelita Hanover, Flashy Baron and Quality Western all put in miles Friday morning.

In rein to Charles Sells in the sixth dash, Eilean Donon (Angus Hall-–Legend Queen) shed the pocket after the half-mile and trotted to a 14 and a half length victory clocked in 1:564, a new lifetime mark. His final quarter-mile was timed in :271. The mile was his second qualifier back, after putting in a gate-to-wire touring of The Red Mile on May 17 in 1:584.

The three-year-old bay put together a 6-2-1 record and $235,469 in earnings last year, including scores in a division of the Champlain Stakes and a pair of O.S.S. Gold Finals.

In the second dash, and also in rein to Sells, Beardmore (Angus Hall-–Bright Leaf) came from off the pace, trotting his final panel in :282, and finished third in his 1:591 mile. The three-year-old Beardmore is a career earner of $460,136 after compiling a 2-4-2 record last year from 14 starts. He made his wins at two count, as he emerged victorious over a horribly sloppy Mohawk oval last fall in the Valley Victory, and also took a division of the Champlain Stakes. Friday morning’s mile was the second qualifier of the year for Beardmore, after having put in a 2:001 mile on May 17 (and finishing second) at The Red Mile.

With Dan Creighton in the bike, three-year-old Captain Brady (Balanced Image-–Soignee Kash) finished second in the fourth race of the morning, trotting home with a final quarter-mile of :281 in his 1:592 mile. Captain Brady showed a ton of talent last year (took a mark of 1:54), but also a knack for breaks. He banked $102,775 on the year via a 5-1-0 record which included a score in a division of the Simcoe Stakes.

Carmelita Hanover (Western Hanover–Cami Whitestockings) and driver Mario Baillargeon went gate-to-wire in the third dash and posted a 13 and a half length winning margin in 1:553. An injury last year derailed her two-year-old season after just two starts, but she had won both of those tilts in 1:542 and 1:55 respectively.

Flashy Baron (Rambaran–Best Of Intentions) and driver Rick Zeron looked strong in the seventh qualifier, winning in 1:543, including a :263 final panel. The three-year-old is eligible to the eliminations of the Pepsi North America Cup, which take place June 12 at Woodbine.

The Oliver Wendell Holmes champ of 2003, Quality Western (Western Hanover–True To Life) finished third in his season’s debut, putting in a final quarter-mile of :263 in his touring, which was clocked in 1:561. Blair Burgess was in the bike behind the four-year-old who has $429,528 in earnings.

Venus Killean (1:56), Mylite (1:584), Aahm Canadian Now (1:543), Liberty One (1:583), Con Man (2:00) and Maple Lady (1:57) were all victorious on Friday morning.
