Pompano Beach, Florida – February 24, 2004 – The post position draws for Pompano Park Harness Track’s biggest night of racing in 2004 takes place Wednesday morning for the $160,000 Isle of Capri Pacing Series final, the $80,000 Mack Lobell Trotting Series final and the $50,000 Red Bow Tie Invitational Pace for Florida-breds. All three events will be raced Saturday night.

There will also be a special presentation Saturday to the only two women in harness racing that have won more than 1,000 races as professional drivers, Beatrice Farber and Jacqueline Ingrassia.

In honor of the Isle of Capri Night, named after the parent company that owns Pompano Park, the Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., there will be seven vacation packages given away in free drawings to Isle of Capri casinos, including the newest property at Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island. The first 4,000 fans will get a special Isle of Capri Series tee-shirt and there will be live Calypso music, a Family Fun Night and Caribbean radio station Mystic 1580 AM will have their party van at the track.

Dream Freckles, who is tied with Up Front Lucy as the two winningest horses at Pompano Park this year, each with four wins, heads the 8th race $6,000 feature trot. The 12-year-old gelding, owned by Ron Ralph of Waldoboro, Maine and trained by Rodney Grady, starts from post two for driver Kevin Wallis.

A winner in 4 of his last 6 starts in 2004, Dream Freckles has the ability to win from either on or off the pace and just two starts back scored his fastest winning time ever, a 1:57.3 mile, leading from start to finish.

His main competition will come from Tysandcastle (post 4) for driver Bruce Ranger and Jim McDonald’s Macadream Stable of Ottawa, Ontario. The seven-year-old gelding won his last start despite being parked out first over for almost the entire race, winning by one length in 1:59.1. Other contenders include E B Joe (post 1) and Van Am (post 6).
