Racing resumes at Lebanon

Lebanon, OH — On Thursday night the races were cancelled at Lebanon Raceway due to icy track conditions and Friday the horsemen voted to cancel when the track thawed and left dangerous boggy areas in the track. On Saturday, however, we were back and racing.

The feature race of the night on Saturday was a $7,500-$10,000 claiming handicap race.

Dan Noble and Glenview Fritz hustled to the front, leading the pack through fractions of :282 and :582 before Jason Brewer and Mr Hanky made a first over move and took control of the field. The third quarter was clocked in 1:29 and the final time of the mile was 1:59. Mr Hanky was a length ahead at the finish with Studley Lamont second and Reality’s Place in the show position.

This win was Mr Hanky’s second in a row and his third in five starts this year. Mr Hanky is owned by Ronald Fairchild of Flat Gap, Kentucky and is trained by Jeff Brewer.

Jason and Jeff Brewer combined their efforts on Arthur Floyd’s Cam’s Keydet in the last race to bring home a training double for the Brewer Stable for the night. Jason had a driving triple.

We had a couple more repeat winners this week.

Sylvains Friend, who is owned and trained by Tom Smith, went to the winner’s circle for the second week in a row with Tony Hall in the bike, and the Brian Stephens-trained Roman Punch made his second winning appearance in as many weeks with Jeff Fout being given the lines for owner Jim Kerr.

Lebanon Raceway will be racing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights with a post time of 7:20 p.m.
