Sweet Lou’s 2019 stud fee will be raised to $12,500

from Diamond Creek Farm

Wellsville, PA — Diamond Creek Farm is pleased to announce that champion pacer Sweet Lou’s 2019 stud fee will be raised to $12,500.

The combined sales and racing success of Sweet Lou’s offspring provides exceptional value to those who supported the horse in his first couple of crops.

With stakes winners like Blood Money, Pyro, Lyons Nighthawk, and She’s Alright, Sweet Lou is currently in the top three for leading money winning sires of 2-year-olds in 2018 along with average earnings per foal.

During the recent Lexington Grand Circuit meet, the Sweet Lou filly Warrawee Ubeaut crushed the world record for a 2-year-old on a mile track. Originally set by Sweet Lou himself, Warrawee Ubeaut paced in 1:48.3. Later that week, No Mas Amor won his International Stallion Stakes division in 1:49.1, just missing the world record for 2-year-old colts.

The Lexington sale saw 26 Sweet Lou yearlings sell for an average of $46,462. This comes to more than six times his stud fee, a huge return on investment for breeders.

All other stallions fees remain unchanged for 2019.
