Prejudice, a winner at 31-1, sparked massive dividends in Tuesday’s sixth race at Yonkers.
When a third-over, 31-1 Prejudice (Jim Marohn Jr., $65) rolled past a first-up, 49-1 Big Turn On (Troy Beyer) in Tuesday’s (Oct. 9) $14,750, sixth-race pace at Yonkers Raceway, it blew up the tote board.
The result was a $2,143 exacta, Yonkers Raceway’s highest of the season. Throw in 38-1 Mach On (Joe Bongiorno) and the triple returned $4,695, with a neck separating the first three finishers.
Prejudice, who entered all of 1-for-24 this season, turned in a season’s best 1:55 effort. The 5-year-old Western Terror gelding is co-owned by Delawareans William Sartin and Mark Salerno and is trained by Joe DeCarlo.
