Ohio Sires Stakes leaders through July 31

Columbus, OH — With only one month left to race in the Ohio Sires Stakes four-leg series before the $300,000 Ohio Super Night finals on Sept. 1 at Northfield Park, the leaders in the 2- and 3-year-old divisions continue to jockey for the top eight slots.

The top eight point-earners in the series at the completion of the four legs will each earn a starting berth in the prestigious rich final. Points are assessed as follows: 51 for first; 26 for second; 13 for third; 9 for fourth; 6 for fifth; and one point for sixth through tenth.

Lane Of Stone and Patti’s Main Man are tied for first place in the 3-year-old colt trotting division. Both sophomores have OSS earnings of $45,000 and 103 OSS points each, with the Mark Winters Sr.-trained Lane Of Stone having won leg one in 1:53.1 and leg three in 1:54. Likewise, the Michael Sowers owned and trained Patti’s Main Man won leg one in 1:55.1 and leg three in 1:56.3.

Third in this division is Wittyville, with 70 points and $28,500 in OSS earnings from a leg one win in 1:54.3 for trainer Ron Burke. In fourth is ELO Hanover with 61 points and $36,500 in OSS monies for trainer Virgil Morgan Jr., while in fifth is Otsego with 57 points, $27,000 in OSS earnings and a 1:55.3 score in leg two for trainer Chris Beaver.

Stablemate Never Say Uncle sits sixth with 51 points, $25,000 in OSS earnings and a 1:56.1 mark taken in leg two. Both Voyage To Paris and Shake N Back are tied in seventh with 39 points each. Dylan The Great, another Burke trainee, is not far behind with 36 points.

Pure Chance sits comfortably atop the 3-year-old trotting filly division, with 103 points, $50,000 in OSS earnings and a 1:54.2 score in leg two, with two second-place finishes in legs one and three for trainer Chris Beaver, who has five of the top eight point-earners in this division.

Aunt Rose and Only Take Cash are tied for second with 90 points and $43,500 in OSS earnings each. Only Take Cash took a 1:54.1 clocking in leg two for trainer Robert McIntosh, while Aunt Rose won leg one in 1:54 for Beaver, who also conditions the fourth, fifth and seventh-place contenders in this division.

Back Splash has 65 in OSS points and $31,000, with a 1:54 score in leg three, while Bella’s Rose Power has $25,000 in OSS earnings and 53 points, with a 1:54.4 win in leg one.

The Carlo Poliseno-trained Refined captured leg three in 1:54 and has 52 points and $25,000 in OSS earnings. Stone In Love has 41 points and $21,000 earned, while Princessofpink has $16,500 and 35 OSS points for trainer Marty Wollam.

Rock Candy is the leader in the 3-year-old colt pace standings with $62,500 in OSS earnings and 128 points. This Brian Brown trainee captured the first two OSS legs in 1:50.3 each. Sitting a distant second is the Luke Ebersole conditioned Cross Country with 78 pints and $37,500 in OSS monies. Cross Country won leg two in 1:50.4 after finishing second in leg one.

Seattle Hanover sits third after winning leg one in 1:50.3, with 70 points and $33,500 amassed in this series for the Burke Brigade. Yankee Boots is fourth with 64 points earned and $31,000 in OSS dollars via his third leg triumph in 1:52.3 for trainer Steve Carter.

Bllack Hole has nailed down fifth place honors after winning leg three in 1:50.4 in his lone OSS contest. Trained by Clarence Foulk, Bllack Hole has 51 points and $25,000 earned.

Black Smile sits sixth (41 points, $19,000); Shamma Lamma seventh (32 points, $15,000); and Gold Digger King eighth (31 points, $14,000).

Queen Of The Pride holds a narrow lead in the 3-year-old filly pace standings, with 104 points, and $50,000 while Rylee Roo has 103 points and $50,000 earned, as the former has won leg one (1:51.4) and leg three (1:51.1), while the latter was second in legs one and three with a 1:52 triumph in leg two.

Rose Run Uptowngal captured leg two in 1:52.2 and has $43,500 in earnings for trainer Ron Burke, with Avaline Hanover fourth with 70 points and $33,500 earned from a first leg win in 1:52.1 for this same trainer.

Giggles In Dreams sits fifth with 52 points and $25,000 earned from two second place finishes in legs two and three, while Snobbytown is sixth from a lone 1:53 win coming in leg three of this series. Norman’s Madeline is seventh in the standings with 32 points and $15,000 in OSS earnings, with In Love Again sitting eighth with 28 points and $12,500 earned in this series.
