A 3-year-old filly tops Prix d’Amerique sale

High Qualita, a royally bred 3-year-old French filly, was the sales topper at the annual Prix d’Amerique sale, held at Vincennes Thursday (Jan. 23) and Friday (Jan. 24).

High Qualita, who is sired by Ready Cash and out of Qualita Bourbon (she by Love You), who had earnings of more than $1.65 million, was sold for $408,000. The buyer wanted to be anonymous.

She has raced five times and has one win and two seconds.

High Qualita was part of the annual reduction from famous French horseman Jean Pierre Dubois and his Haras de la Brosse. Dubois had entered 17 trotters at the sale, but sold just seven for a total of close to $1 million.

The first yearling ever at a sale sired by Propulsion was sold for $88,000.

The most expensive broodmare sold at the sale was Charmeuse Majyc, in foal to Love You, who was bought by AM Bloodstock for $132,000.

The most expensive stallion share was Bold Eagle, who sold for $71,500. Lutfi Kolgjini of Sweden was the buyer.

However, a share in Face Time Bourbon was bought back for $132,000.
