A Currier & Ives Winter

Goshen, NY — The name Currier & Ives is nearly synonymous with romantic sleighing scenes and idyllic snowy views of 19th century America. On Thursday (Nov. 15) from 12-2:30 p.m., join the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame for an entertaining exploration of the fashion and cultural imagery captured in these colorful wintery works of art.

This great afternoon session will begin with a hot Thanksgiving style buffet meal followed by a slide presentation and discussion of Currier & Ives winter scenes. The day’s activities will be capped off with a hands-on craft project, designed for participants of all artistic abilities, and time to tour the museum’s main gallery featuring the exhibition “Horse-Drawn: The Sleighs of Currier & Ives.”

Tickets for the Lunch, Learn & Create session are $18 for museum members and $20 for non-members and include lunch with soft beverages and dessert, as well as art supplies.
