Campbellville, ON — The two-time O’Brien Award winning driver Jody Jamieson had a productive Tuesday evening (July 12) at Mohawk Racetrack as he found the winner’s circle six times on the 11-race program.

Woodbine Entertainment Group’s leading driver had back-to-back victories with Dry Gulch (1:53.1) for trainer Tracy Brainard in the second race followed by the Pat Hunt-trained Mystic Allure (1:55.3) in the third dash.

Jamieson got under the wire first in the sixth race with Medway Flashpoint (1:54.1) for trainer Mike Brealey and scored with the Rebekah Cunmulaj-trained Snowbound (1:52.1) in a 10-1 upset in the seventh race.

Il Villaggio was one of six winners on the Tuesday card for Jody Jamieson.

‘Double J’ notched his fifth victory in the eighth race with the Blair Burgess pupil Il Villaggio (1:51.4), who will race in the C$730,000 Maple Leaf Trot on Saturday, July 23.

To round out the evening, Jamieson captured the 11th race with Base Camp (1:52.3) for trainer James Stewart for his sixth win on the card.

“It’s a pretty good feeling,” said Jamieson. “I thought I had a pretty good line-up coming in. Obviously when you win six, a lot of things have to go right. I am really happy with Il Villaggio. He raced great. I am really pumped for six. It’s the toughest circuit in the world to be able to do that, six wins any night at any track, is an accomplishment and it’s great to do it here.”

This marks the second time Jamieson has won six races in one night on the WEG circuit. The first time was at Woodbine on February 21, 2011.

Jamieson’s biggest win of 2011 was the highly sought-after $1.53 million Pepsi North America Cup on June 18 aboard Up The Credit who is trained by his father, Carl.

With 297 trips to the winner’s circle, the Moffat, Ontario, resident has banked more than $5.5 million in purses so far this season.

Live racing returns to the Campbellville oval on Thursday evening (July 14) with a first race post time of 7:10 p.m. and a C$50,000 guaranteed early Pick-4 pool, which will kick off in race four.
