Policy of Truth, a 3-year-old gelded son of Explosive Matter, convincingly won the E3-series over 1-5/16 mile at Eskilstuna Saturday (July 2) afternoon. Driven by Ôrjan Kihlström, Policy of Truth was parked outside for most of the trip, but was still able to hold off the favorite Makethemark, driven by Ulf Ohlsson.

Not only is the E3 the first big stake of the year for 3-year-old trotters in Sweden, Makethemark was unbeaten in six races this year.

Trained by Reijo Liljendahl, Policy of Truth stopped the clock in 1.58.2f (mile rate) and has now raced six times with five victories. The purse for the winner was $120,000.

The filly counterpart of the E3 was won by the 24-1 longshot, Uncertain Age, who was driven by Christoffer Eriksson in 1.58.2.f (mile rate).

In Paris the Prix de Washington was the main event at the Enghien track and is one of the very few mile races held in France. Un Mec d’Heripre driven by Jean Michel Bazire was able to show off Robert Bi, driven by Robin Bakker, to win in 1.52.2. The purse for the winner was $60,000 dollars.

Friday (July 1) night 7-year-old Knows Nothing, sired by Kadabra, returned to racing for the first time this year. At Eskilstuna, Knows Nothing, driven by Ulf Ohlsson, was an impressive winner in 1.52.4f (mile rate).

On the same card, last year’s winner of the Hambletonian Oaks, Wild Honey, sired by Cantab Hall, won a female race over 1-5/16 mile easily in 1.57.1f (mile rate).
