Abrams and Antonacci to join HHYF Board

from the Harness Horse Youth Foundation

Westfield, IN — The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is pleased to announce the recent elections of trainer Frank M. Antonacci from Somersville, Connecticut and Nicola Abrams from Allentown, New Jersey to its board of trustees.

“These individuals show enthusiasm and willingness to become involved so we’re very happy to have their respective talents,” said HHYF President Callie Davies-Gooch. “HHYF is active, vibrant, and productive and we welcome others who are eager to assist in our mission of providing educational experiences to young people about Standardbreds.”

The 25-year-old Antonacci brings his youthful perspective, excitement about the HHYF programs including Harness Racing Youth League, as well as his expertise as a horseman to the board.

Abrams’ strengths stem from not only her business perspective, but her keen understanding of how exposure to horses can directly affect a youngster’s level of confidence and personal growth. She is the wife of trainer Chris Ryder.

Re-elected to serve another term were incumbents Harold Breidenbach, president of corporate support from Lima, Ohio; Jean Brown, senior vice president-operations at Blue Chip Farms from Wallkill, New York; and Paul Fontaine, an attorney from Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

Officers re-elected were Callie Davies-Gooch, president; Paul Fontaine, vice president; Leah Cheverie, secretary; and Jim Reynolds, treasurer.

A charitable organization, the HHYF provides opportunities for hands-on learning with harness horses as well as printed information for further study and administration of scholarships. For more information about the HHYF, please call the HHYF office at (317) 867-5877 or visit www.hhyf.org.
