Action set to continue in Blue Chip Matchmaker and MGM Borgata Pacing Series

Yonkers, NY — Horses will look to build on their point totals when Yonkers Raceway plays host to the third legs of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series and the MGM Borgata Pacing Series on Friday (March 26) and Monday (March 29).

In Friday’s Blue Chip Matchmaker action, three of the pacing mares who have collected victories in the event thus far will face off in the second of two $35,000 divisions (race seven). Seaswift Joy N (post two, Andrew McCarthy/Tony Alagna) scored last Friday, Blue Ivy (post five, Tyler Buter/Todd Buter) was a round one winner, and Alexa Skye (post six, Todd McCarthy/Jeff Cullipher) will look to improve to three-for-three.

The first Blue Chip Matchmaker flight (race six) will see a new face get 50 points as none of the participants has won in this year’s series as of yet. Snobbytown (post two, George Brennan/Ron Burke) is the morning-line favorite after finishing second a week ago.

Hesa Kingslayer N (post four, Jim Marohn Jr./Mike Deters) will look to keep his unblemished record in the MGM Borgata Pacing Series intact as he leads Monday’s first $40,000 split (race four). Hesa Kingslayer N clicked in 1:52.4 in round one and came back to score again in 1:51.4 last week. This Is The Plan (post seven, Yannick Gingras/Ron Burke) looks like his main competition off back-to-back runner-up performances.

Leg two winner Rockapelo (post three, George Brennan/Ron Burke) and round one victor San Domino A (post four, Todd McCarthy/Nancy Takter) meet up in the second MGM Borgata tilt in race five, and two more horses that own wins in the series so far — Lyons Steel (post two, Austin Siegelman/Dennis Watson) and Backstreet Shadow (post three, Tim Tetrick/Ron Burke) — headline the final section in race six.

Preliminary round action in the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series continues through Friday (April 9) and in the MGM Borgata Series until Monday (April 12). The finals of both series are scheduled for Monday (April 19).

Yonkers Raceway continues with a Monday-Friday live schedule, with post time at 7:15 p.m.
