Toronto, ON — Although Adventure Bound did not win his Autumn Stakes elimination this past Saturday at Woodbine, trainer Eric Adams remains optimistic that he has his sophomore pacer on the right track heading into the C$60,000 final this Saturday (Dec. 10).

The son of Camluck-Unchained Speed finished a respectable fourth in his elimination, a race which Adams was proud of.

Adventure Bound has banked $73,775 in his career.

“He’s been getting better and better in recent weeks,” he said. “We gelded him in the spring and he didn’t take to that very well, but in his last five starts, or so, he’s really starting to come around.”

The four-time winner has banked $73,775 from two racing seasons, but Adams believes the future remains bright for his homebred.

“He’s the type of horse who will only get better with age,” he said. “He has no soundness issues and he’s getting better to work around. He’s a going to be a very useful horse on the WEG (Woodbine Entertainment Group) circuit.”

Last year as a freshman, Adventure Bound banked $45,944 racing in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots program for owner/breeder Millar Farms.

“He’s got such a nice gait to him,” Adams said. “That’s why we could take him to the smaller tracks like Hanover and Sudbury. He could get around any size track and we used that to our advantage to make some quick money early last season.”

Heading into the rich final this weekend, Adams will have his pupil ready to compete.

“He’s an easy horse to keep sound,” he said. “With the right trip, anything can happen and I think he’ll be right with them. We’ll have him as ready as we can.”

The C$60,000 final will line up as follows: 1. Road Untraveled, 2. Del Rio Seelster, 3. Modern Legend, 4. Mach My Word, 5. Adventure Bound, 6. Lyons Johnny, 7. Emerging Grin, 8. Pisti, 9. Justlikejessejames and 10. Lil Roy.

The featured event on Friday’s (Dec. 9) program is the C$60,000 Autumn Stakes final for 3-year-old pacing fillies. First race post time is 7:10 p.m.
