Alittlesidehustl N rallies to Saratoga score

Saratoga Springs, NY — After hitting the board numerous times against the Capital Region’s top distaffers, New Zealand invader Alittlesidehustl N and driver Jay Randall finally landed in the win column on Tuesday (March 28) by way of a 1:56.2 win in the $18,200 Fillies and Mares Open at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Though even-money favorite Adashious Hanover (Matthew Athearn) set a leisurely :58.4 first half, the backfield got in motion past the half when Racey Rach N (Chris Long) began to gain first-over out of fourth with Alittlesidehustl N not far behind. The tandem swallowed up the leader turning for home, and when Randall fanned Alittlesidehustl N three-wide, the 5-year-old He’s Watching mare stormed home to out-kick her cover by a half length. Always Watching (Jordan Derue) earned third.

Trainer Jackie Greene co-owns Alittlesidehustl N, who paid $8.40 as the third choice in her first local Open victory, with the Kellogg Racing Stables.

Live racing at Saratoga resumes Saturday (April 1) with a $2,572 Pick-5 carryover and a 5 p.m. start to the program.
