The 6-5 favorite, Always Gonna B You seated Tonianne from the gate, with Catch N Kill sitting third. They finished in exactly that order, as Always Gonna B You scored by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:53.3 for Aaron Merriman over a sloppy surface.

Bill Bercury trains the 5-year-old daughter of Always A Virgin-Passing Fancy, who boosted her career bankroll to $432,993, for Renee Bercury.

Jack Killeen and Merriman each piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
