from Plainridge Park

Plainville, MA — On Monday afternoon at Plainridge Park the New England Amateur Driving Challenge concludes, the first of the special events featured during the fall racing season at the Massachusetts track. First post is at 2:30 p.m.

The next event is more extensive. On Tuesday September 22, Plainridge will kick off “The Whole Nine Yards,” a series for middle range horses.

The Whole Nine Yards is really three different series. The two week event will be written for horses that have started at least ten times this season for a purse of $3,600 or less. There will be separate divisions for pacing horses and geldings, pacing fillies and mares, along with a group for trotters of both genders.

All elimination legs will be held on September 22. Those preliminary legs will determine the fields for the finals. All three final events, each of which will be contested for $7,500, will go to post on Wednesday September 30. There are no fees for the event, and nominations will close with the draw for Tuesday September 22.
