American-bred Vanity Matters to race in Grand Prix de France

Vanity Matters, a 5-year-old mare bred and raised n the United States, will race in the prestigious Grand Prix de France on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 14) at Vincennes.

Vanity Matters, who was campaigned in the United States by Jonas Czernyson, is owned by the French Jean Pierre Barjon Stable, who bought her in Dec. 2014.

Barjon sent her to train in Sweden with Bjorn Goop, who raced her nine times last year. Vanity Matters won twice and lowered her mark to 1:53.4f by winning at Aby. She has lifetime earnings of 181,000 Euro.

She last raced three months ago and on Sunday, where she will have Pierre Levesque in the bike, she will face top trotters like Bold Eagle, Timoko and Oasis Bi, in fact, the first three finishers from the Prix d’Amerique.

The start list for the Prix de France will be made public Thursday at 12 noon, European central time.
