Andy Miller wins seven races Friday at Freehold

Freehold, NJ — Andy Miller had a remarkable opening day at Freehold Raceway on Friday (Aug. 30), as he won seven out of the track’s 10 races.

Miller, the leading driver at Freehold, teamed up with leading trainer Nick Surick on five of those wins. They won with Ginger Spice N ($4.00) in race one, Yooper ($4.60) in race two, Rockn Legend ($6.80) in race four, Fox Valley Hermia ($5.60) in race six, and Icingon De Cupcake ($4.40) in race nine.

Miller also won with Chris Marino’s Sunrise Hanover ($30.20) in race three, and won the first leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes for 2-year-old filly trotters with Contepartiro Deo ($10.80) for his wife Julie in race five.

Miller lost his bid for a perfect game in race seven, when Midnight Zette was narrowly defeated by First Maestro, driven by Jim Marohn Jr. He then finished third in the Preferred Handicap Trot with Jacks To Open, before bouncing back in race nine.

He’s got a great chance to continue his success on Saturday, as he has drives in 10 of the 12 pari-mutuel races at Freehold.

First post time on Saturday at Freehold is 12:30 p.m. The card is headlined by the New Jersey Sire Stakes for 2-year-oldĀ  pacers. There will also be a carryover in the early Pick-4 of $1,325.03. That sequence starts in race two.
