Angelo Frassetto, 72, dies

Manalapan, NJ — Longtime Standardbred owner and breeder Angelo Frassetto, 72, died June 2, 2013, several hours after his horse, Ms Caila J Fra, won the $150,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes final for 3-year-old pacing fillies at Meadowlands Racetrack.

Mr. Frassetto, of Upper Saddle River, N.J., campaigned his horses under the nom de course of The Fra Stable LLC. For more than two decades his trainer was SBOANJ President Tom Luchento. More recently, the Frassetto horses were in the care of trainer Steve Elliott.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (nee Reynolds); children, Terry and Christine; grandchildren, Gates, Caila, Angelo, Angelina and Giana; and brothers, Anthony, Albert, John and Salvatore.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday (June 4) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave., Ramsey, N.J.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (June 5) at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, N.J. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J.
