East Rutherford, NJ — Anndrovette must enjoy racing 1-1/8 miles at the Meadowlands.

The multiple-award-winning 8-year-old mare captured Saturday’s (Aug. 8) $251,250 Lady Liberty for older female pacers at the Big M at the added distance of 1-1/8 miles, defeating Table Talk by 1-1/4 lengths in 2:04.1.

Anndrovette won the Lady Liberty at 1-1/8 miles at the Meadowlands.

Anndrovette also won the Golden Girls at 1-1/8 miles on July 18 at the Meadowlands, which was her first victory at the track since the 2012 Overbid final.

A four-time Dan Patch Award recipient, Anndrovette and driver Tim Tetrick were sent off at 5-2 odds and took the lead from Table Talk as the field made its way around the first turn. Table Talk remained second for much of the mile and was unable to overtake Anndrovette in the stretch. Venus Delight finished third.

“I just wanted to be in control or follow the one that had some speed up front,” Tetrick said. “I got to control it and my mare was happy to be up there. When she’s on her game, she’s one of the toughest horses I’ve ever been associated with. She shows up, she’s a true champion, no question.”

Anndrovette (Riverboat King-Easy Miss) has won 44 of 123 career races and earned $3.42 million. She is trained by Jeff Bamond Jr. and owned by Bamond Racing and Joe Davino.

She is the second richest pacing mare in harness racing history. Eternal Camnation tops the list with $3.74 million.

“She could get there,” Tetrick said. “She’s broken a lot of horses in this older division, a lot of them tried to take it to her, but she lasts year in and year out. I give her tons of credit, I race her hard all the time and she likes it, she keeps coming back.”
