Another big triumph for Bazire at Vincennes

French leading trainer Jean Michel Bazire dominated the Criterium des Jeunes, the first big Group 1 race for French 3-year-old trotters at Vincennes Sunday afternoon (Feb. 16).

Bazire won the race with Havana d’Aurcy, followed by stablemate Hooker Berry with Franck Nivard in the bike.

The purse for the winner was $83,000 and for second was $46,000. The total purse in the race was $184,000.

The winner is a 3-year-old filly and she is now the richest French 3-year-old trotter, with total earnings of $275,000. She is by Royal Dream (he by Love You) and out of Avila (she by Ready Cash). Avila was a top horse in her crop and she won the same race back in 2013.

The breeding of Havana d’Aurcy is the new golden cross in France. Blood from Love You and Ready Cash.

Also, Hooker Berry, who finished second, is sired by a son to Love You, Booster Winner.
