Another big win for Ônas Prince

Ônas Prince with trainer/driver Per Nordström won the Sprintermästaren at Halmstad — also called the Swedish Hambletonian.

Ônas Prince won his elimination and the final; and in the final he lowered his record to 1:52.2f.

Ônas Prince (sired by Chocolatier) has stamped himself as the best in Sweden’s crop of 2017, as he now has won the two biggest races for 4-year-olds this year, The Kings Trophy at Aby and Sprintermästaren.

So far, Ônas Prince has raced seven times this year and is undefeated.

Second behind Ônas Prince was Rome Pays Off with trainer/driver Robert Bergh and third was another USA-expat, Maesteraemon with Magnus A. Djuse and trained by Stefan Melander.

The purse for the winner was $130,000.

Fifty Cent Piece (she by Muscle Hill) with trainer/driver Robert Bergh won the mare division with a purse for the winner of $80,000. She was timed in 1:53.1f.
