East Rutherford, NJ – On the next condition sheet covering March 29-30, The Meadowlands will again significantly increase the purses for overnight racing, boosting the average to nearly $200,000 per card.

Another benefit resulting from disbursement of the purse supplement is that all starters will now get a check for racing at The Meadowlands. Recognizing that traveling to compete at The Big M comes at a cost, the owners of horses finishing back of fifth will now receive one percent of the purse to help defray that expense. That amount will come off the top of the total purse for each race with the balance then paid out in the standard percentages.
