Lexington, KY – The Association of Racing Commissioners International is recruiting for an individual or entity to oversee, coordinate and manage the organization’s finances, programs, staff and operations.

It is anticipated that the individual or entity chosen for this responsibility will initially work alongside the current President as determined the Board of Directors and will assume all responsibilities associated with managing the association and its finances.

Applicants will be considered by the corporation’s Governance Committee who will make recommendations to the Board of Directors.
It is anticipated that this position will be filled prior to January 1, 2027.
Applicants will be assessed on the following:
- Experience as a senior executive with proven leadership and financial management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to react instantly to evolving events.
- Prior experience with government regulation either as agency management, policymaker, legislative oversight, regulated industry compliance, or constituent advocacy. Experience with horse racing, gaming or sports betting regulation is
preferred. Experience with all is highly desirable. - Experience dealing with legislators and legislative matters.
- Ability to identify public policy options and assess the impact of each.
- Experience and ability to develop a consensus or mediate differences to reach a compromise solution.
- A sensitized understanding of horse racing, sports, and wagering from various perspectives: the general public, law enforcement, and regulated participants.
- Experience in the management of public funds.
- The ability to interpret legal documents.
- The ability to analyze public policy and develop options to be considered by the association’s members.
- Experience planning meetings and conferences is desirable.
The successful applicant will initially work alongside the current President and may report directly to the Board of Directors on matters within their scope of responsibility.
This position requires travel.
