Ariana G has been selected as the New Jersey Sire Stakes Horse of the Year for 2017.

Ariana G won both of the New Jersey-restricted races that she entered, including the final of the Sire Stakes’ Premier Division at the Meadowlands where she took her lifetime mark of 1:51.1. The 3-year-old trotting filly used those races as a springboard to the rest of the season which saw her victorious in major stakes such as the Del Miller Memorial, Hambletonian Oaks, Simcoe, Elegantimage and Breeders Crown, while earning $1,123,690 during the course of the season.

Regular driver Yannick Gingras handled Ariana G in all of her starts for trainer Jimmy Takter.

With lifetime earnings of $1,867,657, the remarkable filly is owned by Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld of Ontario who also were responsible as breeders for the mating of Muscle Hill to Cantab It All.

Ariana G’s connections will be honored at the 61st annual Breeder Awards Luncheon on Jan. 28, 2018 at O’Connor’s Restaurant in Eastampton, N.J.
