Armbro Ben early choice at Rosecroft

FT. WASHINGTON, MD – Armbro Ben is set to face the starter as the 3-1 early choice in the $8,200 Winners Over pace at Rosecroft Raceway on Tuesday evening.

The five-year-old son of The Panderosa drew post position five in the field of eight for the ownership of the Anne S McDonald LLC of Virginia. The horse recently won an easier division at Rosecroft in 1:54.3 as the favorite, and has been competitive in the Winners Over event. Trainer Mark Clark has named Walter Callahan to drive.

Sea Man, a seven-year-old Beach Towel stallion, is second choice on the morning line at 7-2. Set to leave the gate from post six with Tom Jackson at his lines, the Jim Fortna trainee was third in last week’s edition of the Winners Over. Racing for owners Lorenzo DeSimone and Mark Akins, Sea Man has a yearly mark of 1:53.2 set on the Rosecroft oval.

Two-time winner Timely Centurion, assigned post position eight, is the 9-2 third choice. The eight-year-old Western Hanover horse has dominated this class over the pass two weeks; two starts back he took a yearly mark of 1:52.1. The horse, trained by Manley Brown, Jr., will be driven by Rosecroft’s leading reinsman John Wagner.

Racing Naked (Frank Milby, 8-1), Instigator (Jonathan Roberts, 8-1), Dixie Pride (Joe Offutt, 6-1), Ethical Hanover (Roger Hammer, 8-1) and The Fraternity Pan (Corey Braden, 5-1) complete the field.

Post time for the 15-race slate is 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday at Rosecroft Raceway.
