Dover, DE — Tanah Merah Farms’ Armbro View, whose 1:513 win last week was two-fifths of a second off the 1:511 world record set at Dover Downs in November by Eternal Camnation, faces a pair of newcomers in a field of eight in this week’s $20,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on Tuesday, January 20 at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.

Ann Other Porsche is among the favorites in Tuesday’s feature at Dover Downs.

Troubled by recent foot problems, Armbro View showed her improvement in a near wire-to-wire victory last week. The sharp Crossfire N, owned by Wendy Crissman and 49 Racing Stable, was strong finishing second, beaten only a half length with Mike Cole in the bike. Meanwhile, Niss Allen Inc.’s Ann Other Porsche, with Brad Hanners, stormed from last turning for home to finish third, one and three-quarter lengths from victory.

Akowskey, Ehrhart, Korn and Kross’ Time Frame N makes her first local appearance after competing in the Meadowlands Open last time out. The New Zealand bred nine-year-old will be driven by Eddie Davis. Hugs Fanci, owned by John Sixt and Judy Blaun, closed out her 2003 season with two straight wins at Vernon Downs. Steve Warrington will drive her starting from the rail.

The rest of the talented field is composed of Florence Nitkowski’s Cams Little Imp N, driven by Ross Wolfenden, who won this event two weeks ago, Howard Taylor’s stakes winner Jenny Fanetta, teamed with Kevin Sizer, and Jeffrey Franklin’s Rain Dance Kim, Travis Bowman in the bike, who are the upset contenders.

Elizabeth Brittingham’s Chocolate Square (Bret Brittingham) won last week’s $15,000 Mares Winners Over Pace and by the luck of the draw will again start from post one. William Moffett Inc.’s Nuclear Power (Jim King, Jr.) was a game second with Wilson and trainer Jeff Clark’s Rondel Franco N (Brad Hanners) third. K&R Racing and Teague Inc.’s Theatrical Hanover (George Dennis), Wayne Pryor and Doc & Me Inc.’s Tuahiwi Trick N (Ross Wolfenden), Carter Racing’s Felicity (Jim Morand), Dave Schneider’s Giggling Matti (Eddie Davis) and Bettyjane Corey’s Love That Hall (Bob Corey) complete the field.

The female dominated race card also features a $10,500 distaff pace with two starters fresh from victory in William Moffett’s Love A Lab (Ross Wolfenden) and Rodney Mitchell’s Simply Electric (Kenny Mitchell). Clair Corle’s My Gal Phyl, co-owned by driver Roger Hammer, Toby Lynch, Jr.’s Roses Best and Debbie Avery’s Pelicanrama A (Jim Morand) are among the nine starters.

Monday through Thursday post time at Dover Downs is 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday racing starts at 5:30 p.m. No racing on Friday. There is no charge for parking or admission. Reservations are suggested for the Winner’s Circle Restaurant. Call (302) 674-4600.
