Armbro View holds off Ann Other Porsche in the Mares Open at Dover.

The inclement weather proved no factor for Armbro View. Jim Morand took the Presidential Ball six-year-old away from post one and was never threatened on the way to her second win of the year. Ann Other Porsche (Steve Warrington) sat second the route with Rain Dance Kim (Travis Bowman) taking third money.

Armbro View, trained by meet leading conditioner John Green, has now earned $38,000 in 2004 and $504,467 in her career.

William Moffett Inc.’s homebred Nuclear Power set the entire pace in a 1:54 victory, her third in the last four starts, giving driver Jim King one of his two wins. RN Artist (Roger Hammer), off at 39-1 from post eight, closed well to take second in front of Angela Gold N (Frank Milby).

Jay Low took advantage of a pocket trip to win her DSBF division.

Jay Low, owned by Jeanne McInnis and Nancy Jackson, enjoyed a perfect journey following Ain’t Given Up (George Dennis) until the field of eight DSBF three-year-old filly pacers entered the homestretch. Ross Wolfenden then unleashed the Morgan McInnis-conditioned daughter of Walton Hanover, who sped past for a career fastest clocking of 1:562 over the rain slicked racetrack. Ain’t Given Up held on for second with Our Perfect Storm (Travis Bowman) closing to finish third.

The win was only the second lifetime and lifted Jay Low’s two season earnings to $25,497.

Costly Legs was a 1:57 winner in her DSBF split.

Costly Legs recorded her sixth win in seven lifetime starts for owners Rebecca Pitre and driver Steve Warrington, while posting a 1:57 triumph in the second DSBF section. The Wynfield Mark sophomore took the lead at the start and set all the fractions in victory. Gambi Girl (Kevin Sizer) closed well to finish second with Miss Muffett (Clifton Green) third.

Costly Legs, trained by Paul Davis, has now won $31,025 this season.

The eight top money winners return next Thursday, April 22, for a $100,000 DSBF final.

Later in the program, Warrington moved Joanne Nestved’s Physical Favours N into the lead approaching the clubhouse turn before speeding to a 1:55 victory in a $13,200 Delaware Pace. Doctor Young (Sam Belote) closed for second in front of Miss Fish Lady (Art Stafford, Jr.).

In a $12,500 Mares Pace, Debbie Avery’s veteran Pelicanrama A shot along the passing lane from fifth in the stretch to get up at the wire for a 1:542 victory edging Seasin (Roger Plante). Golden Tan (Ross Wolfenden) led early under severe pressure from Chocolate Square and still finished third.

Rattlesnake Jake snatched the lead early and led the rest of a quick 1:552 mile to win a $12,500 conditioned trot for George Dennis. Ethen Seelster (Jim Morand) was runner-up. Mic Mac Jack (Jim King) was next.

Ohtobe BG recorded a second straight wire-to-wire victory for lessee, trainer, driver Rusty Thomas in a $10,100 Delaware Trot. Cashourway (George Dennis) stalked the winner the distance and finished second. Guzunthite (Eddie Davis, Jr.) was the third place finisher.
