Artcotic wins NJSS final at Freehold

Trenton, NJ — Artcotic overcame post position eight to win the $85,000 New Jersey Sires Stake Championship Final for 2-year-old pacing fillies in 1:55.1 on Saturday (September 9) over the Freehold Raceway half-mile oval.

With Jack Baggitt, Jr. driving, the daughter of Artiscape was parked to the quarter in :28, but overtook Mr Deli’s Filly by the half-mile pole and stayed in front to win by a length and a half. Kisskissbangbang finished third.

It was the fifth victory in seven starts this year for Artcotic, trained by George Teague, Jr. for lessee Rodney Mitchell, Jr. of Camden, Delaware.

The filly’s career purse earnings reached $96,062 with the victory.
