Ft. Washington, MD — Trying for seven consecutive wins, Art’s Pretty Lady is in-to-go in the $6,000 Open Pace for fillies and mares at Rosecroft Raceway this Friday evening, April 11.

At the top of her game right now, the 5-year-old Arturo mare paced wire-to-wire last week in 1:55.2 for trainer Connie Kamit. Two starts back, Art’s Pretty Lady set her lifetime best with a mile in 1:54. Frank Milby will again be in the sulky for the drive from post position four, and the pair will race for owners Susan Chytla and Nicholas Kamit, Jr. The mare will open up on the board as the 7-2 second choice on the morning line.

The main competition is found in Lofty Widget at 3-1 early odds. After breaking stride at the start of the mile last week against these, the 5-year-old daughter of Pacific Fella will attempt to rebound here with a win. Racing in upper-level classes at the Meadowlands with some success, the trainee of Greg Trotto certainly shows the speed to contend with these. Jonathan Roberts will drive the mare from post position two for owners VIP Internet Stable LLC, Trotto and Sporrer.

The remainder of the field may promise to be equally competitive. Horses include Double Flip (Corey Braden, 5-1), Drivin’ Miss Rudee (Donnie Russell, 5-1), Sky Queen (Victor Kirby, 10-1), High Speed Racer (Wayne Long, 8-1), Riddlemethat (Nick Callahan, 6-1) and Gen-U-Wine Raider (Kelly Staten, 6-1).

The Fillies and Mares Open is slated for the second race of 11, with post time at 6:30 p.m.
