At Press Time kicks past dueling leaders in Meadows feature

by Evan Pattak for The Meadows

Washington, PA — At Press Time saved ground while the leaders dueled themselves into submission, then moved widest in the lane to capture Wednesday’s (May 20) $18,000 Winners Over Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

At Press Time got away fourth for Dave Palone and waited patiently while Sam Hill and Hillbilly Hanover locked up in a suicidal battle that took them through three-quarters in a swift 1:22.4. At Press Time angled off the pylons around the final turn and outkicked I’m Feelin Good, downing him by a head in 1:51.3. Sam Hill saved show.

Ron Burke trains At Press Time, a 4-year-old son of Western Terror-So Right who now boasts $455,562 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Mike Wilder piloted four winners and Palone three on the 14-race card.
