Bailey wins five at Vernon

Vernon, NY — Leading driver Leon Bailey drove five winners on the card, including a win in the $7,500 featured trot with War Of Will at Vernon Downs on Saturday (July 20).

Galactic Storm (Truman Gale) led to the quarter in :28.1.  Rock Solid Express (John MacDonald) took control heading down the backstretch, and was first to the half in :57.4.  Northern Rein (Josh Kinney) was first to make a move going first-up heading around the final turn.  Galactic Storm was first to three-quarters in 1:26.4.

As they reached the stretch, War Of Will ($2.90) came flying three-wide and took over the lead. Second-place finisher Galactic Storm found a seam along the cones, but War Of Will was too strong and won in 1:54.4.  Le Massif (Steeven Genois) finished third.
War Of Will is a 5-year-old gelding by Captaintreacherous.  He is owned by Robert Bradley and trained by Jeff Sorenson.  It was his fifth win this season and the 13th of his career.
Bailey’s other wins came with Ma The Meatloaf, Ocean Blue, Rally Your Crew, and Woodside Gabe. Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (July 26) special post time at 12:15 p.m.
