by Dustin Ross, for Tioga Downs

Nichols, NY — Baileysirishdream established a new track record for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Sunday afternoon (August 12) at Tioga Downs with a mile in 1:58.1.

Howard Okusko, Jr. drove the daughter of Matchem Hanover for owner Barbra Bailey and trainer Ray Van Dreason. The freshman trotting filly is now a perfect four-for-four lifetime, all coming in the Kindergarten Classic Trotting Series, and has increased her earnings to $20,000.

The other divisions of the Kindergarten Classic went to Andover America, Lakin Beau Bakin and Looking Hanover.

South Park Hanover came from off the pace to take down the $15,000 Open Handicap Pace in 1:52.3. Jim Morrill, Jr. steered the 5-year-old son of Artsplace for trainer Chuck Connor, Jr.

Pacesetter Srixon cut hot early fractions of :26.2, :54.2 and 1:22.3, but driver Larry Stalbaum was still able to hang on for second, while Quickful Bliss finished third.

It was the sixth win of the season for South Park Hanover, who increased his bankroll to more than $62,000 with the victory.

Keith Kash, Jr. and No More Gold N had no problems overcoming the nine hole in the $15,000 Open Handicap Trot to score in 1:55.4. The duo reached the top just before the three-eighth-mile marker and never relinquished the lead en route to a new lifetime mark.

It was the fifth victory of the year in 18 starts for the 9-year-old son of Evander’s Gold, who increased his seasonal bankroll to more than $35,000.

Jim Morrill, Jr. posted six wins on the afternoon’s 14-race card while Ray Schnittker and William Bailey each posted driving doubles.
