Bartlett doubles in Pocono features

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Jason Bartlett captured two of the three co-featured $12,000 pacing events during the Sunday (March 28) twilight card at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, driving both Nome Hanover and Gonnahavemore to victory over sloppy going.

Despite the sloppy track, Gonnahaveonemore took a new lifetime mark of 1:54.3 on Sunday at Pocono. Curtis Salonick photo.

Bartlett seized control of the pace during the second quarter en route to wide margins of victory in both instances. The Mach Three gelding Gonnahaveonemore won by 6-1/4 lengths and established a new lifetime mark of 1:54.3 for owner-trainer Pasquale Picca, and the Well Said gelding won by 2-1/2 lengths in an identical clocking for trainer Mark Ford and owners George and Rose Bonomo.

In the distaff division, Peggy J won her second consecutive start, hustling to the lead in front of the stands and winning by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:58. Simon Allard rove the Quality Western mare for trainer Jeff Sorenson and owner Paula Sarcone.

Driver Tyler Buter and trainer Todd Buter teamed up for a double, capturing a pair of $10,000 contests with veteran trotters Rich And Miserable (1:56.1) and Two AM (1:57). Buter Farm, Lynette Buter, and William and Carol Fuhs own the trotting tandem, who have collectively earned over $1 million in their careers.

A competitive group of trotters will contest a $30,000 Game Of Claims Series final on the Monday afternoon (March 29) card at The Downs. Post time is 12:30 p.m., and program pages are available on the PHHA website.
