Batavia, NY — Neither the cold or the snow could stop members of Batavia Downs Casino from bringing holiday cheer to several less fortunate families in Genesee County this holiday season.

Loading up the bus to deliver holiday toys are, from left to right, Ryan Hasenauer, Director of Marketing, Paul Ohlson Care-A-Van Ministries, Mark Wolf, Director of Video Gaming, Bridget Ohlson, Care-A-Van Ministries and Todd Haight, Marketing Specialist.

Thanks to a very generous donation by horse owner Howard Ouriel of Rochester the Downs staff was able to purchase enough toys for Care-A-Ministries, United Memorial Medical Center and The Salvation Army.

“We’re just happy to do it,” said Todd Haight, Marketing Specialist for Batavia Downs. “We all feel it’s very important to give something back to this great community that supports us year round.”

“Running the race at the Downs is like running the race of life,” said Paul Ohlson of Care-A-Van Ministries. “We’re all called on to run the race of life and take it to the end. Bringing these donations of presents will bring joy to those with no hope. We would like to thank Mr. Ouriel and Batavia Downs for this fine gesture.”
