BBS Sugarlight won the Oslo Grand Prix on Sunday.

BBS Sugarlight won the 1-1/4 mile event in 1:54.4f (mile rate) followed by Oasis I, driven by Bjorn Goop, and Papagayo E, driven by Vidar Hop. The purse for the winner was $195,000.

The North American entry, Wind Of The North, driven by Daryl Bier, finished last.

BBS Sugarlight is Swedish-bred, but is trained and owned in Norway. Two years ago he was sold for just $3,000 to the farmer Fredrik Solberg and he raced him in ordinary races in Norway. But early in 2014 Solberg asked the Swedish trainer Peter Untersteiner to drive BBS Sugarlight in a race in Sweden and after that race Untersteiner suggested some changes and that improved BBS Sugarlight into a top trotter.

BBS Sugarlight won 11 races and took a mark of 1:52.2 last year, plus he earned $230,000. So far this year BBS Sugarlight has won $425,000 and earlier this year he won the Olympic Trot in Sweden.

On the undercard the 8-year old mare Fleetfoot Hanover (sired by Andover Hall and out of Firefly Annie) won a mile event worth $22,500 in 1:55f with Peter Untersteiner in the bike once again.
