Campbellville, ON — Beer Summit and driver Ron Pierce lowered the stakes record and equaled the track record in the C$351,000 Goodtimes Trot for 3-year-old colts on Saturday night (June 16) at Mohawk.

The Michael Vanderkemp trainee stopped the teletimer in 1:52.2 to notch his third victory of the year.

At odds of 161-1, Gym Tan Laundry (Jack Moiseyev) showed early speed off the gate to clock the opening panel in :27.1. As the trotters passed the half in :56.1, Il Mago (Trevor Ritchie) launched a first-over bid for the lead and Beer Summit caught his cover.

Il Mago couldn’t match strides with Gym Tan Laundry and as they passed the three-quarters in 1:24, Beer Summit was angled three-wide turning for home.

The son of Cantab Hall-Prime Mistress used a :27.4 final panel to score by a half-length over Prayer Session (Dave Magee). Gym Tan Laundry faded to third.

The four-time career winner lifted his earnings to C$310,009 for owners Sharlene Vanderkemp, Mirva Bogucki and J And T Silva Stables LLC.
