Bergstein Pace nominations close August 15

from Plainridge Racecourse

Plainville, MA — Nominations for the $25,000 Stan Bergstein Pace, an open event for 3-year-old pacers which will be conducted later this summer at Plainridge Racecourse, close on August 15.

The Bergstein is among the feature events of each season at the Massachusetts track, and again this year the final of the two week event will be held as part of the Labor Day card at Plainridge. That prestigious program is highlighted annually by the Bert Beckwith Memorial Pace, and also includes the annual Legends Driving Championship, along with the induction of the 2010 addition to the track’s Wall of Fame. An event such as the Stan Bergstein Pace, which honors one of the most distinguished individuals in the history of harness racing, is a perfect fit for such a card.

The 2010 edition of the Stan Bergstein Pace will get underway on Monday, August 30, with $10,000 elimination heats. The $25,000 added final will be contested a week later, on Monday, September 6.

The nominating fee for the Stan Bergstein Pace is $100 and nominations will close on August 15.
