Beverly Holden, 79, dies

Columbus, OH — Beverly Jean Holden, 79, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 24, 2021.

Bev owned many standardbreds. Some of her favorites were “Get Chipped” (owned in partnership with Acadia Farms, and trained by Marty Wollam), “Sand Ahoy” (trained by Kent Sherman). “Tiffany Satan”, “Get it On” and “Lake Side Al In” were also favorites.

Born April 10, 1942, in Richmond, OH to Roy and Ruth Brown, she was a lifelong area resident and 1960 graduate of Andover High School. She worked briefly at Isalys in Andover and the Credit Bureau of Ashtabula, then had a career at USPS from 1975-2002, retiring after 18 years as the postmaster in Pierpont. Bev was a member of the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher. She had an infectious sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, painting, her family farm, gardening, the farmer’s market, and local book club. Bev was a huge supporter her family’s various endeavors and businesses, as well as a devoted caregiver for her family and friends throughout her life. Her greatest love in life was her family!

Her survivors include her husband of 59 years, Patrick; four children, Bill Holden of Conneaut, Phil (Carolyn) Holden of Harpersfield, Marty (Tina) Holden of North Kingsville, and Vicki Miller of Jefferson; grandchildren, Kyle (Cassie), Ryan, Cory, Philip (Liz), Haley, Libby, and Jake Holden, Jed (Meghan) and Tyler Miller; 6 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Betty Parker, Janice Dick, and Roger Brown; brother-in-law, David Holden and sister-in-law, Paula Brown.
