by James Beviglia

Mohegan Sun at Pocono racing analyst James Beviglia offers his picks for the $5,000 Pick 4 on May 11, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Pick 4, Races 6-9, Wednesday, May 11, 2011

$2 play: 67/256/138/6= $36

Analysis:

Race 6: #6 Timer, #7 No Doze
Although Fortune’s Legacy, getting Andy Miller, worries me, I have a feeling that these two are the way to narrow down this field. Timer is moving up, but he came off a layoff for a 2nd last week with a good time on a sloppy track. No Doze needs to get away just a tad better for his late kick to make the difference.

Race 7: #2 For All We Know, #5 Best Around, #6 Victim Of Love
For All We Know, with the deadly Kakaley/Burke combo, gets a nice post. Best Around has the class to just overwhelm these if she finds her stride, and Victim Of Love won easy in this group last start.

Race 8: #1 Ellen’s Isle, #3 Macs Bad Boy, #8 Quick Deal
If Ellen’s Isle is on her game, she wins for fun here. But that’s a big if, so hedge your bets by playing Macs Bad Boy, who has good getaway speed and gets Tim Tetrick, and Quick Deal, who proved he can handle older horses and a tough post with his win last week.

Race 9: #6 Mystery Photo
I have to take a shot somewhere with just one horse to keep my hypothetical bet down, so I’ll go with Mystery Photo, courtesy of Andy and Julie Miller, throwing out some talented trotters in the process.
