Big day in France for Ready Cash offspring

Both Group 2 races for 3-year-old trotters at Vincennes Saturday afternoon (Nov. 23) were won by offspring of Ready Cash and either he or one of his sons was the sire of the first four finishers in both races.

In French breeding, it is either Ready Cash or one of his sons!

Gallant Way went past long leading Golden Bridge to win the 1-11/16 mile event in 1:59.4 (mile rate). Gerard Forni photo.

In the Prix Jacques de Vauloge, the first four finishers were sired by Ready Cash and trained by Philippe Allaire. Gotland driven by Eric Raffin was the heavy favorite but was not up to his best and had to settle for third place. Instead, 10-1 shot Gallant Way with David Thomain went past long leading Golden Bridge with Yoann Lebourgeois to win the 1-11/16 mile event in 1:59.4 (mile rate). Gatsby Perrine with Anthony Barrier came fourth.

In the filly division, Criterium des Pouliches, Gunilla d’Atout with Björn Goop in the bike was a very convincing winner. She was timed in the 1-11/16 mile event in 2:00 (mile rate).

Gunilla d’Atout is sired by Ready Cash, while number two, three and four in the race all were sired by Bold Eagle.

Gunilla d’Atout picked up a check for $54,500, while Gallant Way had to settle for $49,500.

The next time the best French 3-year-old trotters will race is in the Criterium des 3 Ans on Sunday (Dec. 15).
