Nichols, NY — Mike Simons enjoyed his usual “Friday at the office” between Pocono Downs and Tioga Downs, picking up a half-dozen wins between both tracks.

Simons’ day started off with a driving double at Pocono Downs in the afternoon and ended with a grand slam after the 105-mile trip to Tioga Downs.

In the Friday feature at Tioga, OK Shark N and Simons hit up the give and go to Jimmy Whittemore and My Girl Lora after the quarter pole that was reached in :28.4. The duo never looked back and never relinquished the lead, en route to the winner’s circle with a mile posted in 1:55.4. Whittemore and My Girl Lora had pace down the lane, but could not shake loose soon enough to make up the ground and had to settle for second, while Park Free and Jim Taggart, Jr. got up for third.

It was the fourth win of the year for the 5-year-old daughter of Mystical Shark, who is trained by Tioga Downs’ leading trainer Jamie Sullivan. With the winner’s share of the $9,000 purse, OK Shark N increased her bankroll to more than $15,000 for the year.

Howard Parker is not letting the driver’s standings get out of contention, as he posted a driving triple on the night’s nine-race card, and only trails Simons by two wins.

Tioga Downs continues live racing action on Saturday night with a post time of 6:50 p.m.
