Billings Series heads to Canada

Monticello, NY — Harness racing’s greatest traveling sideshow, the C.K.G. Billings Harness Driving Championship Series, moves on to a trio of tracks in Ontario this weekend, with two races at each venue.

On Thursday (June 23) the Billings travelers will compete at Rideau Carleton; on Friday (June 24) they’ll race at Grand River Raceway; and on Saturday (June 25) the two competitions will be at Georgian Downs.

Nearly the same contingent of amateurs traveling north of the border will compete at all three venues with a few exceptions.

According to the Billings Series president Tony “the Capo” Verruso, all the members are looking forward to racing at the three different Canadian racetracks where every Billings contest will be on the betting card.

Among those joining Verruso at all three Canadian venues will be the Billings Series vice president, Steve “You’re Never Too” Oldford.

Each Billings competitor will earn points in the respective regions that they signed-up for at the beginning of the season in early May.
