Billings trot on tap at Scioto Downs on Friday

Monticello, NY — “Trader Bud” Hatfield and Done Dreamen put their two-race Billings win streak on the line when they tackle nine others in a Midwestern Region Billings trot at Scioto Downs on Friday, September 10.

Done Dreamen and Hatfield won back-to-back Billings trots at the county fairs in Painesville and Greenville, Ohio but when they start from post position five in the second race on Friday they’ll undoubtedly face stiffer competition than in their previous conquests.

They’ll be facing the cream of the crop as far as Midwest regional drivers are concerned. Among those with a perch behind a spirited trotter in that Billings contest are “Tar Heel Tom” Williams, Steve “You’re Never Too” Oldford, Kelly “Sky” Walker, “Tiny Tim” Miller, Bob “I Want To Sell You A Car” Chapman, Milton “American Winner” Smith, “Lawbook Larry” Farley, Dave “Linemaster” Ehrenberg II and Kathy “High Flying” Hawk.

Currently Steve Oldford is atop of the Midwest region leaderboard with 93 points, some 19 better than Tom Williams’ 74. Dave Ehrenberg’s 51 is third best while “Michelle the Belle” Ruvola holds down fourth place. Kelly Walker is in fifth place with 33 points and “Trader Bud” is sixth with 30 points. “Chicago George” Bonomo (23); Bob Chapman (21); Kathy Hawk (19) and “Racin’ Jason” Sgrignuoli (18) round out the top ten.

First post on the 11-race Scioto Downs Friday night card is at 6:30 p.m.

Eastern region action continues with three non-wagering Billings trots at Yonkers Raceway on Monday evening, September 13. Post time there is at 6 p.m.
