Blazinhart Hanover dies

from Kawartha Downs

Fraserville, ON — It is with sadness that Kawartha Downs reports the death of Blazinhart Hanover, a regular performer at the Fraserville racetrack for the past seven years.

A 10-year-old daughter of Art Major-Bandolera Hanover, Blazinhart Hanover has been owned by Richard Wright and trained by Joe Wright, both of Port Perry, Ontario. The Wrights also operate the track’s tack shop.

Blazinhart Hanover was scheduled to compete in the tenth race last Saturday night and moments before the race she fell in the paddock and suffered a broken leg. The track vet was forced to euthanize her.

Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, the mare’s dam is a full sister to Barnett Hanover ($461,648). It’s the immediate family of Breeders Crown champ Popcorn Penny ($624,359), Westwardho Hanover ($689,408), etc.

Over the course of her career Blazinhart Hanover was never a superstar but she was a steady performer with 102 starts to her credit. Kawartha Downs was her home track and the fans here will miss watching her perform and extend sympathy to the Wright family on their loss.
