Blue Porsche was a 1:54.2 winner in the Goodtimes.

Onirique (Luc Ouellette) led the field into the turn, but Sim Brown (Randy Waples) put a neck ahead in an opening quarter of :28 and held the lead through middle fractions of :58.3 and 1:27.3.

Into the final turn, Blue Porsche applied pressure to Sim Brown. The pair dueled, but Blue Porsche cleared the lead in deep stretch and won by two lengths over his rivals with a final quarter clocking of :26.4. Sim Brown finished second and Onirique was third.

Blue Porsche gave Ritchie his fifth Goodtimes Stakes victory.

“I know he’s got tremendous speed. I have all the confidence in the world in him,” said Ritchie following the win. “I thought as long as I could get up reasonably close by the three-quarters they would have to go something to beat me.

“He’s a real professional. He can get out of there if you want, he can cut it, he can come from the back, he can come first up like he did tonight. He can just do it all.”

Blue Porsche paid $3.20 to win as the bettor’s choice.

The son of Glidemaster-Machita is owned by Robert Burgess, Karin Olsson Burgess and Blue Porsche Stable. The win was the bay’s eighth lifetime victory in 12 starts, pushing his career earnings to C$606,161.
