Bluebird Jamaican won the Spa Loyalty claiming series final on Friday night.

The $25,000 series final for trotters was contested at a distance of 1-1/4 miles and the distance looked to serve Bluebird Jamaican very well. The Jody Weidman-trained 4-year-old romped in the series’ first leg and was a solid second in leg two before out-trotting his rivals home to win in 2:31.2 in the final. Passat Blue Chip (Stephane Bouchard) was the race’s runner-up while Jesse Say More (Jim Devaux) finished third.

Jay Randall piloted Bluebird Jamaican to the biggest win of the young trotter’s career, who returned $10.40 to win.

The two consolation races as part of the series were won by Tymal Breezee (Alek Chartrand) and Net Revenue (Jordan Derue).

The Spa Loyalty pacing series final takes place on Saturday and will also be contested for a purse of $25,000. Live racing begins on Saturday night at 6:45 p.m.
