Bob Meyer, 80, dies

Columbus, OH — The Daily Racing Form reported on Thursday (Jan. 9) that “Bullet” Bob Meyer, longtime announcer at Yonkers Raceway, has died. He was 80.

Meyer, who served as the principal race caller at Yonkers through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, concluded his career with a six-year stint at Saratoga before retiring in 2005. He called his final race on Dec. 2, 2018.
